We finally decided on a name :) Madelyn was born on January 31st at 5:23 pm. She weighed 7 lbs 12 oz and is as healthy as can be :) We had a GREAT experience. John has spent a lot of time in Labor and Delivery's ORs working on software for the anesthesiologists so he knew most of the people who participated and it made it so much more fun! My doctor was out of town, but the attending who was on yesterday let John deliver Madelyn with very little help :) This might sound weird, but it was so comforting to look down in between pushes and see John there. He did an amazing job :)
The best part about the whole thing was that as soon as she came out and they cut the cord they set her on my chest and I got to hold her! They didn't wisk her off to observation, pass her to the NICU to resuscitate her, or pass her to the NICU to get her ready for transport to Primary's. It was awesome! She was covered in thick goo and looked as blue as can be :) So much fun :) John got to finish helping with the placenta and all of that and I got to hold her while the nurses did their thing.
I will write the whole story later, but for now here are a bunch of pictures!! Thanks to our AMAZING nurse, Mel, we got a TON of great pics of John delivering Madelyn, but I'm not sure if they are appropriate for family viewing :) hope these ones are....
She is such a beautiful baby. CONGRATS!! I CAN'T wait to see her again, you have an adorable family. I LOVE YOU ALL! Of course John delivered her, lol, who raised that kid????? Good job John and Suzi!
