Money, Money, Money, MONEY!
I am so behind on blogging! My sister told me about how you can make a nice book out of your blog each year and I LOVE the idea of having a hardback family journal so the girls can remember what fabulous parents John and I are (he he he). WARNING: That means whoever reads our blog is going to be subject to the mundane details of our lives - lucky you!
As I mentioned earlier, the girls have been trying to earn money. A few weeks ago - thanks to graduation money (even for the one who didn't graduate - their grandparents are softies) , money earned at home, and a great big lava rock removal project funded by Grandma Spencer - they were able to do it. Kylie blew her entire wad on a hot pink tank and an Easy Bake oven. It takes fifteen minutes to warm up, thirteen minutes to bake, and ten minutes to cool. So after about thirty-eight minutes you get a very lovely bite-sized cake! She quickly lost interest.
Allie spent hers on a bright yellow tank just like the one her sister bought. She had to do two extra jobs to get the lacy one. She doesn't quite get the concept of the lace and hides it under another shirt so you can't even tell she's wearing it, but she's happy and that is all that matters :)
By the way - big cake mixes work just fine in the easy bake oven and are MUCH cheaper than the silly little $7 that are custom made for it. 1/4 C mix to 2 TBS water

We are going to make a book of our blog too. We decided that it would be a fun way to do family history too. I know what you mean with the easy bake oven. We got the cupcake maker and I wasn't impressed. It takes forever just to make one cupcake.
ReplyDeleteCute stuff! Yes, I've been planning to print my blog posts but making a book would be even better. How does that work?
ReplyDeleteThanks for your email and YES we have to catch up soon. How is your growing baby? I think we're at 14 weeks, what is your timeline?
I googled "printing blog book" or something like that and it brought up a bunch of options - I haven't decided on one yet. I think I will make the books in December - easy enough to remmeber!
ReplyDeleteI am at 14 weeks as well and FINALLY getting a little more energy...
