Something to Remember

Yesterday I took Kylie to my OB appointment. I knew it would be a fast one and she is usually in school so I figured it was her only chance to hear the baby's heart beat.  Not only did she get to hear it, but they let her find it :)  It was really fun to watch her learn how to do it and see the look on her face when she found it - I hope she remembers that when her sister gets bigger.

After the appointment we stopped at a store to do some birthday shopping for Allie. The store is only in Salt Lake and quite often has sales on things that are not on sale on their website. Of course we HAD to walk through the Pottery Barn to get there :)  Kylie thought we should walk around the long way, but I lured her in because I HAD to see the price on the most beautiful tablecloth I had seen in a long time, which incidentally, matches our house perfectly!  I knew it would be expensive and out of my price range, but I went anyway. I was expecting $60 or something close to that. It was $200. Kylie rolled her eyes at me.  Then she tried to pull me back out the front door, but I assured her it was faster to walk through the store and exit in the back :) About half way through she said, "Mom, this is just like walking dad down the candy isle at Smiths - I can't even bring you in this store!"

I thought that was funny! AND I wasn't sure I was going to get Allie her birthday present because it is normally $99, but I got it for $39 - seriously!

One more thing... Last night I took Allie to Smiths to get some ice cream and on the way home she told me, "Mom, I like to pretend we are all in toy cars and a really big person is driving us around..." We spent the rest of the ride home talking about what the big people were doing to us :)  She has the funnest imagination ever!
