Easter

Easter was nice - pretty much the same as always :) We have been having FHE on Friday or Sunday nights because John has been teaching some courses at a college so the Friday before Easter I showed the girls an illustrated video from the Mormon channel of Elder Holland bearing his testimony of the Savior. It was a little hard for them to watch and Allie had SOOOO many questions.  We re-teach the atonement and resurrection each Easter, but I think this must be the first year that she has caught a glimpse of what really happened.  I hope she remembers it a little better this time or I am going to feel like a bad mom :)

We had our yummy Easter dinner/ Egg hunt at Grandma and Grandpa Spencer's house on Saturday and then again on Sunday at Grandma and Grandpa Speths. Kylie figured out the whole Easter bunny logistics this year, which was kind of sad :( After a brief discussion on the subject she looked at me sort of sullenly and said, "I think that might have ruined it for me." Ohhhh! We talked a little more and she figured out her new role in keeping things under wraps and helping her siblings enjoy the festivities and she seems pretty excited about that :)

And the Egg hunt/ Basin Hill with G & G Speth...

And Finally Easter morning at our house...

Kylie was sad because the Easter bunny made a mistake and put her stuff in Allie's basket - opa.
In all honesty, church was my favorite part of Easter Sunday.  It was one of those days when you feel like everyone is talking right to you (and possibly reading your mind :). I wish we could leave Sunday to celebrate the resurrection and celebrate the bunny stuff on other days. When John and I are old and our kids are married maybe we'll do that :) Or maybe we'll get together with all of our kids and read some New Testament - that would be nice.
