Franklin Basin

We had a last minute change of plans for our big Zions camping trip.  John's car died so we decided to save the traveling money and put it toward fixing his commuter car.  Instead we went to Franklin Basin - much closer!  Looking back I'm really glad we changed our plans because I heard the weather wasn't ideal in Southern Utah that weekend and it might have been a waste of money.

Besides I love camping in the mountains! Its so pretty there. It was a little cold the first day, but we saw a moose right outside of our trailer.  The next two days were kind of rainy off and on, but great. Then we woke up to snow.  We decided to get out before the snow melted and our trailers sank in the mud so we drove it down to Grandma and Grandpa Speth's and parked it there for another night. I'm glad we did because Grandma Kerr was in the hospital having foot surgery and we had the opportunity to visit John's great grandma Speth as well.

Tyler and the kids came camping for a couple of days and the cousins had a blast playing together. We found a great meadow hiding behind our camping spot (although we never got to have our picnic because of the rain!) and we drove the four wheeler all over with the kids in tow. It was a nice little trip and we would love to camp there again!
