Our house has been for sale for six months. Our contract ended with the realtor right before Ammon's surgery so we decided to pull it off of the market for a little while - six months maybe? I couldn't imagine trying to keep it clean and ready for people to see while Ammon was in the hospital (that was VERY insightful of me, too!)
About a week (?) after Ammon's surgery I became overwhelmed by the clutter in our house. Days and days of running in the house, dropping four kids' things wherever they landed. I was exhausted - until I got this unexpected burst of energy and stayed up until 11pm cleaning it up. I didn't clean it as well as I would have liked, but felt that it needed to be done and that I should do it that night.
The next day I went to the hospital to see Ammon (hoping he would come home - because maybe that is why I felt to clean it?) But he wasn't coming home. then the realtor called. He said he knew we had a lot going on and he tried to tell the other realtor we were too busy, but someone just HAD to come see the house. Normally I would have been embarrassed at the lack of spotlessness, but I was exhausted and didn't care anymore :) I told him it was messy, but if they were so inclined than go ahead. They didn't like it - something about the floor plan. I figured. All the spotless cleaning of the past six months hadn't gotten me anywhere anyway :)
But then a week ago our realtor called John with a surprise offer! Craziness! But Ammon was home and it was perfect timing! I think. Anyway we spent the weekend negotiating and reached an agreement on Monday afternoon.
And that is the short, silly story of how our house might (possibly) be sold. At our Relief Society activity last night someone asked me if it was still for sale. I was caught completely off guard and didn't know how to respond without lying to her. Luckily the Relief Society President jumped in and saved me (I had committed her to secrecy the day before). And I don't want to worry about that anymore so even though the inspection nor the appraisal have been done yet, there you go.
UNFORTUNATELY we have no where to go :) If everything works out we will need to be out by December 14th. Ummm...... We are thinking of building a home (maybe), but either way we need somewhere to go in the interim.
So I'm off to look for rental houses! No luck yet so if you have any ideas..... We would either like to stay in the area and rent while we build (so the kids don't have to change schools too many times) OR decide where we are going to live and rent something in that area.... decisions are so frustrating sometimes. Wish us luck :)
