Allie's 8th Birthday

This year Allie had a two day celebration :) First her Grandma Spencer took her shopping and let her pick out a pair of boots and some new church shoes to go with her baptism dress. Then, the day before her birthday I took her lunch to school and she had her friend party right after school. She decided she wanted a mermaid party (we have been reading the Emily Windsnap books). I love planning parties :) I just need a bigger budget..... :) After the friend party, John and I took her to eat at the Golden Coral (her choice) and to get her ears pierced! We have just started taking just the birthday kid to dinner instead of the whole family and it was really a lot of fun - way more relaxed and we had lots of time to focus our attention on her. Can't wait til the next birthday!

On Saturday G&G Speth picked Allie up and took her out to lunch and birthday shopping! She had so much fun :) then the rest of our family came over for cupcakes and ice cream...

Allie has had a good year. She is really sad about getting older though... she is scared of me and John getting older so she thinks if she stays young we will live forever... I don't even want to know what she will say when she turns 30 or 40, or... She's a very sweet, yet complicated girl and we love her! :)
