Happy Halloween!!!

Halloween turned out to be a lot of fun for the girls! It started on Thursday when Audrey and Allie got to go see Isaac and Kylie at their school Halloween parade. Then, on Friday, John took them over to Steve and Tara's to carve pumpkins with their cousins. Really, all they had to do was help scoop out the middle and choose a design they wanted their parents to carve :) I got to sit on the counter and watch through the webcam - yay! It was super fun! It felt like I was in the same room as them and I loved it! If only they could carry the laptop everywhere! I could be the bodiless mommy :)

On Saturday, John, Steve and Tara brought all four kids to the hospital and wheeled me downstairs so I could see them all in their cute costumes. Kylie was Hannah Montana (of course!), Allie was Aurora, Isaac was a bakugan, and Audrey was an adorable witch. It was a lot of fun to see them! After they left, John took them to our ward's trunk-or-treat and then they did a little trick-or-treating with their cousins before settling in for Chili/pizza at Steve and Tara's.

As much as I don't really like the concept of Halloween, its so fun to see the kids dressed up and to watch their cute little faces as their bags fill up with junk food!

  2. I read an article about Halloween traditions and it changed my opinion of the holiday. Keep reading!

    Gloom Dolls,
Each person writes their "glooms" on a piece of paper. Things or feelings that you don't like about your life or experiences you wish to forget... Then you crumble up the paper and create a ball, this is the doll's head, stick the paper ball into the middle of a fabric square and tie a string around the head creating a ghost like figure. In a fire pit start a small fire, talk about letting go of all the bad feelings that "haunt" us. Then everybody throws their gloom dolls into the fire and watches them burn!!!!

    What fun :O)
