I am straining to make sense of the girls' bedroom. It has STUFF eeping out of every nook and cranny. BLAH. Its driving me CRAZY and I thought maybe if I could hide some of their clothes in drawers instead of a closet organizer it would help.
I decided to paint it white to match their room. It was a PAIN-IN-THE-NECK. That's all I will say about that. AND I'm newly and more deeply grateful that Tyler painted Allie's bed before they donated it to us.
The dresser didn't have quite the impact I was hoping for, but it did help. I'm still not sure about the pink around the edges of the drawers - it is a lot of pink.... Does it make it look cheap(er)?
So while I have been struggling to get that project done I have completely avoided another one that has been sitting in my sisiter-in-law's basement. John's sister Monica had a brilliant idea to re-create someone else's brillian idea and we all went in on some wood to paint some seriously cute pumpkins. Laura, being as astute as she is, realized mine were never going to get painted and asked if she could do it for me - YES, YES, YES! I LOVE them! AND I didn't have to paint them, AND they are decorating my otherwise boring front porch as we speak. Heaven.
And then there was the cherry on top....
Happy early Birthday to me! Isn't it adorable??????
k - I'm dying of laugter right now.... that's the EXACT dresser in our nursery! It was mine growing up and I've painted it to match his room now. The only different is that ours has the ugle hutch attachment on top as well. hilarious! hey, they serve their purpose right?!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe that dresser is still around. The new and improved version looks great.
ReplyDeleteTypical me and to the dismay of my children, my motto is "if it doesn't fit you have too much stuff."
ps that's pretty crafty stuff. What is the container?
Its a block of wood! Gs I had no idea the dresser was so famous! There's a hutch to go with it? Julie do your drawers stick? How do I fix that?
ReplyDeleteSuzi, I LOVE the pink on that dresser!!! It looks AWESOME. Re-finishing furniture is such a pain, but good thing it always looks so great when it's finished! And I'm glad you like the pumpkins and Frosty :) They look cute at your house!
