Tooter-scooter and ramblings

Allie said the cutest thing last week.... We were sitting somewhere in the house and she said,
"Mom, I'm never going to grow up and get married!"

I didn't think much of it because almost every night when I tuck her in bed she tells me that she is never going to have kids because she doesn't want me to be a grandma because then I will die (even though both of her grandma's are still alive)

So I said,
"Well, why not?

"Because I always toot!"

Then I giggled and said,
"Well, I'm married and I toot."

and she said,
"But what if I'm dancing at my wedding and I make it all stinky?"

he he he he he he he he he............ What would my life be like without her?  I think about that every now and then.  Allie's heart stopped shortly after her birth at 32 weeks.  CPR was not going well until they gave her an epi.  What if her heart had never started again? We are SO BLESSED.

And what if John and I had stopped having kids after that? Our lives would be so different and so - missing something - except we might not even know we were missing something.  I am a firm believer that Heavenly Father will guide you in these things.  I KNOW he will.  He has.

I talked with a lady in my ward last week who remarried after many years and wanted to have another child.  She had "that feeling"  the one I have heard SO MANY women talk about and the one I had after Allie. But suddenly she couldn't get pregnant. But then they spontaneously adopted and the Lord guided them through it and they have been blessed in a different, unexpected way. A BEAUTIFUL WAY.

Side note: last week I read the most AMAZING talk.  It was a conference address from Oct 2010 by Elder Neil L. Andersen entitled, "Never Leave Him".

One last thing... I just realized all three of our children have had a nickname related to poop. Huh.  When Kylie was a baby she pooped up and out of the back of her diapers REGULARLY.  I called her SUPER POOPER.  Allie is a tooter, hence TOOTER SCOOTER.  Ammon is the king of POOPY TOOTS.

That is going to be funny when they are all in their 30s.

  2. Well, when we are all at Allie's wedding in 20 years, if you don't share that special wedding toot story, I WILL! Ha ha, that is PRICELESS!
