A review of Ammon's 15 month well-check... Dr. Alvey said he is doing great! He said it would not be uncommon for a heart patient to be a little behind in physical and cognitive milestones, but Ammon is not behind at all. He says lots of words such as - hello, hey, yes, all done, good job, stinky, thank you, ought oh, ee-i-ee-i-ooh, mom, dad, Allie (a-yi), Kylie (I-ye) and hush up Oliver! (ush uuh ah-ya).
He FINALLY learned to crawl a couple of weeks ago, but still prefers to scoot or walk. He has been walking for a few weeks, but just recently started walking across the room without holding on to something. He still goes down the stairs forward, but I'm not sure that is going to change:)
Ammon had been a little heavy for his height, but he lost a little weight with that stomach flu a couple of weeks ago and then the dietitian changed his calorie intake so his height/weight ratio has improved. He is 50% for both - 24.1 lbs and 31 inches. His head is big at 19.5 (95%), but that could be inherited from either side :) He was doing GREAT with sippys a few months ago, but now he pretty much throws them at me or takes one sip and then ignores them unless I give him a bottle. He can't (or won't) take the volume he needs from a sippy and we are trying to work toward getting rid of the feeding tube so I can't throw away the bottles. Ammon has 9 teeth (including 3 molars).
He has also started throwing fits when he doesn't get what he wants (ugh) and likes to sit on any stool he can find. He copies anything the girls say or do and gets EVERY illness that comes around. He LOVES to sit on your lap if you are on the floor and has started to cuddle more (yay!). He is generally happy (unless he is sick in which case he mutates into an ornery old bear) and easy to take care of :)
