Yesterday was a busy day - woke up, got Kylie ready for school, got Allie and Audrey ready for school, bathed the baby, straightened the house, visiting teachers came over, showered (yes, AFTER the VTs), made the crust for an eclair cake, read over materials for a meeting, took Allie and Audrey to school, went to the post office to mail niece's birthday present, deposited money in bank (already spent), picked up John in Salt Lake for lunch date at Subway, went to an hour and a half appt at the Dysphagia clinic (all is well and we are not going to do the G-Tube for now - follow up in six months), picked up John from work, drove home, John picked up the kids at my brother' house and then made grilled cheese for dinner while I finish the eclair cake and CLEANED like a mad woman (for the meeting), changed into church clothes and forgot to freshen make-up (who cares), took kids to neighbor who so GENEROUSLY offered to watch them without me even asking, went to the Ogden Temple, worried and worried about not making it home before people showed up at my house for a church meeting and then experienced a miracle as half-way through the list the sealer suddenly declared that he had another assignment he had to be to and we were able to leave JUST IN TIME to get home, set out the fruit and dessert, John went to pick up the girls while I mopped the floor and answered the door :) The meeting didn't go as I planned, but hopefully we accomplished SOMETHING, cleaned up and put the kids to bed and then at 10:00 at night John had to bum a ride with the neighbor to pick up his car that we left at the train station. Went to bed at 11pm.
My whole point being that today I vowed to do NOTHING! (except clean out the girls room, a little laundry and more straightening). Then the sweetest woman I have ever met (I can't guarantee she is the SWEETEST on my list, but definitely a top contender) showed up with doughnuts - mmmmmm! I may have forgotten all about healthy choices for a few minutes (or a couple of hours) and I may have eaten three.
And the OTHER point is that we are actually doing pretty well with making "healthy choices"! I did fabulously until the camping trip... I am on the mend :) Kylie denied a treat at tumbling last week and her sister must have overheard me praising her because Allie did the same this week - that is some MAJOR progress. It helps that we are not trying to eat less, just healthier.
post note- I ran outside to put the dog out and in the middle of the yard suddenly had to wonder, "Do I have a shirt on?" Not that I normally run around the house (or neighborhood) in my undies, but I had previously tried on a shirt over a shirt and then decided I HATED that shirt since the day I bought it (like 2 years ago) and I was not going to make-do any longer and immediately ripped it off and tossed it into the goodwill pile. Then I was busy with Ammon and forgot to finish getting dressed. I looked down to see that I did in fact have a shirt on - WHEW.
I feel like I'm actually in your brain with you! BAHHAHAHAHAH!!!!! :O)
