Off Our Rockers at Knolls

Last weekend my brother's family had an itch to go camping out at Knolls.  Every time John hears the word "Knolls" he starts itching too.  Everyone said we were off of our rockers for going camping in this...(can you see the snow on the back window?)
We got a few weird looks while gassing up the bikes and four wheeler :) But when we got there it was actually pretty warm (50s?) and pretty dry. I don't know who had more fun - the kids or the dogs.  They RAN and RAN for hours it seemed! Plus, there was only one other group there when we got there and they were no where near us so we didn't have to worry about how far the kids had wandered - I love that. Kylie and her cousin Isaac both learned to drive the four wheelers and after a little practice, they were pretty good!

We were able to make Smores on Friday night.  I wasn't sure if we would have a fire so we brought stuff for cold Smores as well - Graham Crackers, Nutella and Marshmallow Creme.  They were pretty yummy, but I think they would be yummier warmed up in the fire! Saturday was a quite a bit cooler, so Ammon and I spent most of the day in the trailer and Tara spent most of the day sweeping sand out of the trailer :) The kids didn't care about the cold - particularly Kylie.  She is always up for something adventurous :) I wish I would have taken my camera when we all went out on the sand dunes - its BEAUTIFUL out there! In a weekend or two this place will be swarming with people. We will have to go back during the week next time.

Bonus news: Oliver has recently taken up peeing on the wood floor. Truthfully, he has only had a few accidents (4 maybe?) but I'm starting to think its because he doesn't know how to tell us he needs to go out. I was visiting a lady in my ward last week and in the middle of the conversation I heard a loud bell and she called to her daughter, "Abby, the dog needs to go out!" Seriously? Her dog goes to the back door and swats a bell when she has to go out.  I think I'm about the last to hear about this trick because other people have heard of it too.  We are starting the bell training as soon as I can find a big bell.

In other news.... Ammon thinks its funny to throw food (and anything really). AND he hates Gerber graduate meals.  I was trying the airplane/make him laugh so he will open his mouth trick and he pretended to go for the spoon with mouth open wide, got me all excited that he might actually take a bite, and then closed his mouth, leaned back and belly laughed at me.

  1. It's odd to see knolls so deserted. Freezing but no dust. BONUS
