While we were preparing to write in Allie's book I asked Kylie what she was going to write and unfortunately, she was drawing a blank (which is sad because I know how much fun they have together) so I was reminding her about Allie's birth and how we came so close to losing her and then a lightbulb sort of went on in my head and we talked briefly about how lucky we are that Heavenly Father has also preserved Ammon's life and let him be with us and I suddenly realized that without Heavenly Father's help and a lot of prayers we would only have one child right now. Even at that Kylie's birth was a bit difficult and ended in an emergency forceps extravaganza. I feel so lucky to have any children at all. After our little talk she was able to remember a few reasons why she loves having a sister :)
Back to Allie's birthday.... we had three great birthday celebrations! First was her actual birthday. I woke her up and helped her to the bathroom so she could take a shower. I went in a minute later to start her shower for her and she was sitting on the potty sobbing! I had forgotten to bring her breakfast in bed. In my defense it was barely seven and she usually eats right before she leaves, but I suppose the birthday breakfast in bed in stuck in her head. I promised her if she would take a quick shower and get dressed I would have breakfast waiting for her in bed..
Kylie was really excited to give Allie her present so I let Allie open it before school. When she got home she was ready to open Ammon's present. John came home early from work and met us at Classic Fun Center where we let the kids play until Allie had to go to dance. After dance we took her to eat at Applebee's (she wanted to go there because they sing to you for your birthday. After we got there she reminded us at least ten times to tell the waiter it was her birthday!) Finally, we went home and let her open the rest of her presents.
| I think Ammon may have been more interested in the Barbie car than Allie was :) |
