Happy Birthday Miss Allie Bubbles! (part two - the parties)

Allie had two parties again this year - one for friends and the second for family.  I was a bit smarter this year and did them on the same day so we didn't have to decorate twice (or have a messy house for more than one day).  As organized as I think I am most of the time, sometimes it just blows up at me anyway :)

Allie's friend party was fun, but despite my planning every fifteen minutes, we hurried too fast and were finished with an hour left until the kids' parents were to pick them up - opa.  We improvised and survived :) Allie wanted a wedding cake-type thing for her birthday - because she thinks I'm supermom? John and I experimented with marshmallow fondent (Thanks for the recipe Julie!).  Seeing as how I don't own a single cake making tool, it turned out slightly kindergarten-ish, but WAAAAAY better than I thought it would :)

Also, Allie decided on a polka dot party. Decorations were a snap! I wanted to add some round paper lanterns and a few other things, but we settled for a gazillion polka dots. At the party we played a fun game. The kids had to answer questions about Allie's favorite things and if they guessed it right they got to put a dot on her. We also played pin the bee on the flower, twister, cupcake decorating and punch balloon contests. Our improvisation included a bunch of circle games - telephone, duck, duck goose, hot potato...

The family party was low key, as usual, but fun. Its always nice to have family over!
