Cantelope Island

On Monday we took the girls to Antelope Island for Family Home Evening. There is a fun little hike that is perfect for little kids and we get to climb on rocks - my favorite! And you get to see the West side of the Island which is super pretty. The girls couldn't get the name right and kept calling it Cantelope Island. We had a BLAST! Its so quiet and beautiful out there! I wish I would have had a better camera so we could have gotten some decent shots of the sun setting. Unfortunately, it set way too fast so we had to go out again the next day to play on the beach :) We have a state parks pass so we can go out any time we want - yay!

I was soooo surprised to see that the lake is gone. At least on the East side. When I was in high school the water came clear out to the guard shack and up to the beach. They are going to have to re-name it Antelope Mini-Mountain. I have so many funny memories on that island - its a great place to ride bikes (or walk the entire thing looking for bathrooms and getting attacked by killer bugs) or play beach volleyball and roast marshmallows at the campground. Plus, there are random antelope and buffalo roaming the grass. Buffalo are big. By the way Ammon LOVED the sand.
