Marathon Day

You have no idea how bad I wish that meant I was actually strong enough to run a marathon - or a mile.

We began our Saturday at Hogle Zoo.  John and I got free tickets from Primary's when Ammon was inpatient.  We planned to take the girls as sort of a treat for being so patient with all of the babysitters and hospital stuff.  It never happened.  We were trying to wait for John's family to go because they wanted to go with us, but it took four months for everyone to find a time we could all go :) We were a bit rushed since we got a late start and John and I had to leave at 1:00 so in between trying to coordinate everything everyone in the large group wanted to do we missed a few things.  Still, it was fun!
Waiting for everyone to arrive
The girls loved the baby elephant.
Allie rode the giraffe since they are my favorite.
Kylie's favorite animal is the zebra.
Do you love this vest?
At 1:00 John and I left the girls with his sister Amanda and her husband Dan, and went to the U game. We had planned to make it a date (plus Ammon), but Ammon didn't like the noise or the heat so we had to make a few adjustments.  A few minutes after the game started Ammon decided to start SCREAMING every time the crowd cheered.  I took him half way down the stadium to the portal to calm him down and met a super GREAT girl who had a three-month-old AND earplugs!  She seriously saved my bacon! So after 1 1/2 quarters we went back up to the top of the stands to find our seats.  Ammon was still hot and irritable so we found a small shaded area about ten seats away from John and up a little.  We stayed there until half time and then I switched with John and he took Ammon to the very top where he could walk around and hide behind a big pole in the shade.  GO UTES!
Our walk from the top of the University to the stadium.
Ammon finally fell asleep so John could watch the game
After the game we went downtown.  We were supposed to meet Mike and Angie at the Olive Garden for dinner, but we couldn't find a parking space.  We ended up parking at the Gateway and walking several blocks.  Dinner was yummy :) Then we hurried to Bountiful to pick up the girls, and sped home so we could get to another meeting we had at 8:30.  By the time we got home WE WERE EXHAUSTED from all of the walking!  It seemed like we should have planned the days activities on three separate days :) How lucky are we that we can do so many fun things in a single day :)
