Birthday Butterflies

Allie is going to be five next week! She had her first friend party yesterday and it was spectacular! I spent a full week preparing for the party and I LOVED doing it! My sister had given my niece, Kalia a butterfly birthday party a couple of years ago and had some fabulous ideas so I copied them all!

Decorating was the funnest part! The girls helped me put together die cut butterflies to stick everywhere and we made tissue paper flowers for the ceiling butterfly garden. Then there were the balloons, crepe paper and party store supplies....Yu-um! We even had the girls wear their "butterfly wings" (or super hero cape) - that was VERY cute. The hardest part was deciding who to invite. The list was waaay too long and after Kylie's last party I knew I had to cut it back a bit.

The games went well too. We made tissue paper butterflies, Talked about the four stages to become a butterfly, frosted and decorated butterfly sugar cookies, had caterpillar races, chrysalis wrapping races and a butterfly catching contest.

John and grandma were super helpful to make the cookies and frosting and get everything cleaned up in between activities and even though I swore I could do it all myself the truth is, I would have been in a gigantic mess without their help.
