I wasn't sure I was ready...

John and I have had a few casual conversations about possibly getting another dog. We decided we wouldn't get another big dog right now and definitely not an outdoor dog.  I told him about a breed I saw when I took Sophie through puppy class.  The lady stopped coming after two or three classes because her dog did everything she asked it to.

Over the next few weeks John e-mailed me a few ads for Cavalier King Charles'. And then I saw this and I was convinced! Except I couldn't afford one.  These dogs are crazy expensive. But then one guy dropped the price almost in half - hmmm, tempting...... but no, still too much.  But then on a whim I e-mailed the guy.  He made mentioned he was leaving for Dallas in two weeks and the puppies are already ten weeks old so I thought, "hmmm, I bet he needs to get rid of them... " And he did!!! And we practically stole one because the price was more than 1/4 of the original!  And after I found out he would give us the dog for that price I thought and thought and THOUGHT about it because the truth is I still miss Lucas - terribly.  Call me a sap, but I want him back and I wasn't sure I was ready for all the work of having a puppy.  But I couldn't pass it up.  I COULDN'T.  I knew I would never EVER, ever find this breed for that price again. And so....

Meet Oliver!  I am soooo - SO very happy with him!  He is the cutest little thing and he listens to us and loves to cuddle and barely whines and he is CUTE!  He is a spaniel, but will grow to be a little smaller than a Cocker Spaniel. These dogs are supposed to be crazy easy to train, which I love.

Technically he is supposed to be my early birthday present - because you just can't time a present like this.  But I have been pretty busy cleaning and what not for Allie's family birthday party on Sunday night and John is a total dog hog, which I love because it means he likes the dog just as much as I do!  The girls LOVE him and are SUPER helpful to take him out for potty breaks and Ammon is over and beyond ecstatic.  So far it seems like the Best...Fit...Ever for us. YAY!!!
