Allie's birthday turned into a week long celebration! Thursday was the friend party, Sunday we had our families over for cupcakes...
Tuesday was her actual birthday. We woke her up early to open presents from me and John and Kylie (and Ammon?) and then she crawled back in bed for her traditional "breakfast in bed". Lucky for me, all she ever wants is cereal. I spent most of the morning playing games with her and trying out her new toys and then after tumbling John and I took her out to eat. This year she chose Applebees and when we got home she whispered, "Mom, I'm really glad I chose Applebee's because I got a dessert and they cheered for me!"
Wednesday and Friday were her spotlight days at preschool. On Wednesday she got to take her favorite toy for show and tell and she got to teach the class to do a backbend. Friday they did a spotlight poster and she took her birthday treats.
I can't believe she's FIVE. I still can't quite get that into my brain. What a blessing this little girl has been in our lives - she's all kinds of happy and fun and spunky, yet sensitive and nurturing (in a rough and tumble sort of way). We LOVE her so much!
