We were able to do a lot of fun things for Easter this year! We started by having a few FHE lessons about Easter, the atonement, resurrection and the last week of Christ's life. John taught a great one with a story of a family who celebrated the resurrection with a fancy Sunday meal (We think it would be SO fun to do this when we have grandkids - then they could all wear their Easter dresses/clothes and we could eat on fancy plates and have yummy food!), then I found a fun idea online- you fill a basket with items that represent something that happened during that week (we had about 10) and we let the girls pull stuff out and talk about it and then for another one Allie showed us pictures of the events and explained them to us. We were hoping to separate the egg and bunny stuff from Christ. I think they got it - mostly.
We wanted to do all of the egg and bunny stuff on Saturday and leave Sunday for the real stuff, but our families aren't located close enough to do it all one one day so we have to split it up. We had a GREAT time at BOTH parties!
On Saturday morning John and my SIL Tara took the kids to the Syracuse City egg hunt.
Later that afternoon we went to the park with my family, had a nice cookout, egg hunt, colored eggs and played.
Sunday we went to church...
After church we went up to Logan with John's family. We did another egg hunt, ate yummy food, and went to the basin hill to toss our eggs (the girls like to watch them EXPLODE).
