Last week John was officially laid off - bummer. We have known this was coming for quite a while and it is happening to a lot of people right now, but it is still a bummer. John's boss is extremely gracious and gave us a few months to find something else, but its been a rough go! There is one possibility cookin', but it seems to be VERY slow moving. Despite the scariness of the situation, John and I have both felt extremely comforted and peaceful. We have applied for 50+ jobs, but have only interviewed with one.
Despite what happens, I have felt very supported as I am learning to trust that if we do our part, Heavenly Father will take care of us. We have been making extra trips to the temple, and in the meantime have been incredibly blessed with knowledge and insights that pertain to this situation. I am so thankful that I have a place to go that provides peace and instruction during difficult challenges.
On the bright side... we have had the opportunity to teach the children more about finances as we have been careful with our money, and have tried to limit or eliminate unneeded expenses and luxuries. Kylie has assured us that everything will be okay because we have a basement full of food storage. Allie told John that she can teach him to hula and he could work as a hula dancer! Yeah! She also offered princess lessons in case he would rather do that for a living - so thoughtful that one! Since I explained to her that daddy likes to work with computers she has had her mind set on finding daddy a computer job - I wonder just how big my three-year-old's network is??? In the meantime, we are quite enjoying having John home with us,-is that bad? I am really going to miss it when he goes back to work!
