Doll Party

About a month ago I took the kids to Michaels.  We walked down the American Girl isle (of course) and found all sorts of things that would be perfect for an American Girl birthday party!  That's all I remember about it.  Apparently I promised the girls that we could have an American Girl late night before school started... huh.  We decided rather than pay their ridiculous prices we would make our own imitations... Kylie made the invitations and they both made up games (pin the Bitty Baby in the American Girl's arms and an obstacle course with their doll and its horse), had a tea party of sorts, ice cream sundae's and we crafted headbands for the Dolls to wear.  It really was a lot of fun!  We had a minor controversy as one of the girls thought it would be best to only invite their friends who actually owned a real American Girl doll.  I had a talk with them about being "doll snobs" and convinced them to invite someone who didn't have an American Girl doll.  No worries, she got one for her birthday the day before the party.

The late-night was on the same day that we got up at 5:30 am to make it to the Brigham City Temple open house at 7:30 am and the same day their dad took off work to take them swimming... after their friends left, they were exhausted!

  1. What a fun idea! SO I've been totally out of the blogger loop since summer and it was so fun to catch up on all your posts. I can't believe how big your baby is and that she's crawling! I remember just hearing that you were pregnant like yesterday! Time sure flies. I'm glad you guys are doing so great and I love reading your blog!
