Happy Birthday Kylie!

Kylie turned SIX - holy molie. Her birthday was a little different this year. Since we didn't want to have a house full of possibly germ infested people, we took the party elsewhere. I decorated her room a little last night while she was sleeping so she woke up to balloons taped to her bed - she loved that. At school she got to take cupcakes to celebrate and they gave her a perfectly silly hat to make her special :) Since John was going to stay home at night with Ammon, he came home from work early and took her on a date. She got to choose the location - Classic Fun Center (of course). John said there was only one other couple there with three little boys so they pretty much had the place to themselves and he got to play on everything with her - lucky daddy.

Tonight I took her to Mimi's Cafe (she had super student coupons from her reading at school) where we met grandmas and grandpas, aunts, uncles, and cousins. I think it turned out nice. I made her an oreo ice cream cake and the servers were super helpful with everything. She is so funny, she told me she was most excited to open her presents, yet she did it with the straightest face I have ever seen - seriously, so little emotion! I figured she didn't have a great time, or didn't get something she wanted... but no! On the way home she talked about her fun new things and when we got home she tried on her new dresses and shoes and wore them around as long as I would let her. Who knew? So if any of you family members were wondering if she totally hated your gift - no worries, she loved everything.

I can't believe my first little baby is not little anymore. I always wanted at least one baby with dark hair, but when I married John I thought we were destined to have all blondies. I was completely shocked when she came out with thick, BLACK hair! She's adorable :) She is also way too mature for her age - so sad. I love being her mom and I love that she is soooo helpful, rarely complains about us ALWAYS asking her to do stuff for us, she is super duper smart, and usually very sweet:) She does have a wild n'crazy side too, but she can hide it well. She is a GREAT organizer, yet the drop-iest, messiest little cutie I ever had to pick up after. She is a WONDERFUL big sister and a great friend. I am so so very thankful that Heavenly Father sent her to our family! We love you Kylie!

  1. Happy Happy Birthday Kylie!! Wow, that time has flown, I remember what a darling sweet baby she was - and I'm sure she's just as sweet as a six-year old. Give her a squeeze for me.
Congrats on the party planning and success at bringing Ammon home. Thinking of you! Love,
