Okay - who forgot to knock on wood?

Ammon decided Friday was too early to come home so he spiked a fever. They are running a bunch of lab tests on him to see if they can get a better idea of what might be causing the fever. In the meantime, they are going to start him on 3 different kinds of antibiotics so if they do find something they will already be ahead of the game. Maybe next week?

UPDATE... He has a blood infection. One of the nursese told me he had the same thing in the CICU, but that was a UTI so this is new and they don't know where he got it. The Infectious Diseases Team stopped by. They also wanted to do a spinal tap for meningitis, but luckily Annie, the NP talked to his surgeon, Dr. Burch, and he nixed it unless they put him out. He said he didn't want to make him go through that. Me neither. They started another antibiotic this morning that is specific to this bacteria so they are waiting to see when it kicks in. He doesn't feel well - so sad! His heart rate is a little low, he doesn't want to be touched much, doesn't want his binky and has been sleeping a ton. Hopefully he will start feeling the effects of the antibiotics soon. They are watching him very closely - thats nice.
