This morning my 4 year old niece Audrey ran in my house all prettied up. I immediately told her she looked beautiful and in her giddiness replied, "Suzi, I'm a princess!" Ooooooh, that explains it :) Two hours later she walked up to me in the kitchen and said,
"Suzi, I didn't do something today"
"Really?" I answered, "What didn't you do?"
"I didn't dance."
"Well, how come?"
Then she looked at me and very matter-of-factly replied,"Because my prince didn't come."
"Oh? Well, where is he?"
"He's not here, he's on a cation"
"He's on vacation?"
"yeah."
I love kids. I would have ten more if I could. Instead, I will hover over my three angels and love my nieces and nephews every chance I get :) I am thankful for every single one of them. We have been so blessed to live close to my brother, Stevie weevie and his wife, Tara. If (or when) they move I may hide their children away in my basement until they are gone. They will be so busy with the move that they won't notice until its too late. That's my current plan - don't tell.
I really should write more of the funny things my kids say - the problem is I always forget before I make it back to the computer. For some reason only one is stuck in my mind. Last week Kylie and Allie were playing restaurant or something in their room. When Kylie wants something, she doesn't ask for it, she just bats her eyes and tells you how much she likes it. If you don't get the hint she tells you again, more emphatically, how much she really likes it. Allie let her borrow some money to pretend with. When they were done she was telling Allie thanks and asked her something about the money. I could tell she wanted to keep it. Allie said,
"Do you want it? You can keep it if you want to"
"Allie, this is real money"
"I know"
"And you're letting me keep it?"
"Yeah."
"Really?"
"Sure, you can have it." (big pause) "Plus, its not mine anyways, I don't know where it came from."
She's loaded with those. I'll have to try to remember more.
