The doctors have been talking about putting two chest tubes back into Ammon for several days. Today they did an ultrasound and determined that he had accumulated enough fluid to justify putting the tubes back in. They drained 100 CC (just over 3 ounces) from one side and 40 from the other. She said his oxygen sat went from 77 on 50% to 90 on 40% - YAY! I'm super excited because it means they will be able to get him off of the vent faster. I guess its easier to breathe when you don't have a lake sitting on your chest.
It's the lack of gills. :O)
ReplyDeletethat's so wonderful! Hopefully they'll get him off soon! I'm so sorry to hear about Memphis.
