Not too much has happened this weekend. Ammon still seems pretty uncomfortable so he is getting lots of meds for pain and sedation. He smiled at me yesterday! That was the first one I've seen since the day of his surgery and it was so fun :)
He's moving pretty slow. His lungs are still wet and the left one is not filling as well as it should, but he also has a little fluid in his plural space. Dr. Pribble wants to get him off of the ventilator, but can't until he is dryer so he said depending on Ammon's x-ray in the morning he might order an ultrasound and see if he can try using chest tubes to clear some of the fluid so they can extubate sooner. We should know better tomorrow I think.
He did get his pacer wires and art line out this morning - that's good news :) But he has had small fevers here and there and he's pretty agitated. Patience-patience-patience.
Oh Suzi, I hope everything goes okay for Ammon. You are in our prayers. Mary
