This weekend was fun! We got to go see Ammon twice and he looked GREAT. That was our up - here comes the down. John started his day with a phone call from Primary's asking permission to re-insert two of Ammon's chest tubes. Apparently they have been watching him for a couple of days and this morning they concluded that his chest was chuck full of fluid again. After stopping his feeds twice last week, determining that his perfectly formed kidneys were not functioning properly, and that he was unable to properly digest the fat in my breastmilk, we were kind of hoping for something a little more positive. Instead, I guess we are going have to put last week's progress down the garbage disposal and start again.
As of right now Ammon is OK. The fluid immediately drained from his chest and his stats went right back up. His kidneys should fix themselves eventually (although if he is not going to be able to drink my breast milk would someone PLEASE tell me so I can stop getting up in the middle of the night to pump!) Anyway, they are going to start working on getting him off of the ventilator AGAIN. Better luck this time...
A note of comfort... John was able to meet Bishop Sill at Primary's after work to give Ammon a blessing. He said it was comforting and peaceful. I know I have said this before, but what a blessing the priesthood has been for our family. I know that it heals people and provides comfort - I have experienced it OVER and OVER and I am so grateful!
Another note - I have some fun pictures from Christmas, but can't post them until I can hook the laptop up to the internet. Since I have a super yucky sinus cold, that might not happen for a few days...
